Summary
This is a challenging high profile role where you will be responsible for working closely with senior analysts and managers to identify emerging credit risks and initiate timely action, acting as the chair for sector portfolio reviews and as a thought leader in rating committees and other credit discussions. This opportunity involves developing an in-depth knowledge of the credit trends affecting sovereigns and supranational institutions globally.
Responsibilities
* Develop in-depth knowledge of credit trends affecting sovereigns and supranationals globally and take thought leadership initiatives to enhance our analytics and research * Build and maintain high quality relationships with analytical staff and senior management * Lead projects to improve the quality of credit analysis and rating methodologies * Provide guidance to rating teams to ensure consistency with methodologies and challenge analytical thinking when appropriate * Write in-depth, high quality, insightful research on broad credit topics * Improve market understanding of Moody's methodologies and credit views through intermediary interactions and speaking at conferences * Coach and develop support associates
Ideal Candidate
* Substantial relevant experience with demonstrated strong capabilities in sovereign credit analysis gained from work with a financial institution, government agency, international organization, or in academia * Strong understanding of government statistics and economic data, and the ability to understand complex credit drivers for sovereigns and supranationals * Excellent communication skills, able to communicate clearly and succinctly; verbally and in writing * Strong quantitative aptitude and proven analytical skills * Strong academic background at least equivalent to MSc in Economics, Public Policy or a related field * Highly organised and efficient, with ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at one time * Fluency in English is essential
