Moody's is an essential component of the global capital markets, providing credit ratings, research, tools and analysis that contribute to transparent and integrated financial markets.

As a Database Engineer you would manage and design company's databases which may include historical and high-value added estimated databases. Potential areas of focus include time-series estimation, client relations, documentation, process management and/or team management.

* Tasks include creating and developing statistical algorithms to estimate and manage series as well as solving problems related to the management of these databases, which requires the exercise of independent judgment and critical thinking skills. * In addition, you will be responsible for documenting and describing the decisions you make regarding the methodologies you have invented/utilized * Improving existing processes and procedures to increase productivity and quality of output * Expanding existing data offering with additional indicators and new sources of data * Providing advice regarding the pricing of databases and make decisions for acquisitions based on cost/benefit analysis * Providing support and act as Sales support and Marketing arm for areas of responsibility.

* BA or BS degree with course work in economics, finance, statistics, or related fields. * Excellent academic record and a strong proficiency in computer use. * The appropriate candidate must be able to work independently with little supervision and be able to accept responsibility for making decisions, independently arrived at, that have a significant and material impact on the success of the firm. * Familiarity with programming languages is a plus. * Knowledge of a foreign language is a plus. * The position requires a motivated, responsible individual. * Long hours are often required. Because this position involves extensive direct client contact, strong interpersonal skills are necessary.
