iOS / React Native Mobile Developer

Mayfield Robotics is the startup behind Kuri, the adorable home robot that won a pile of awards at CES 2017 and that also pinkie-swears not to take over the world and eradicate humanity. We're growing and looking for people to come help us make Kuri even more adorable and awesome.

Our mobile apps are a big part of how Kuri communicates with those around him. They help translate Kuri's thoughts into plain English (Kuri speaks only Robot), give you a glimpse into how Kuri sees the world around him and let you browse through the things Kuri has seen and heard throughout the day. We're looking for an experienced mobile developer to help us build apps that would both support our internal prototyping efforts, and drive the development of the Kuri app we'll ship to the App Store for our customers. There will be plenty of challenges along the way – from figuring out the best way to live stream all kinds of cool info from the robot with our software team, to visualizing mapping and navigation paths or sweating the details on novel interactions with our product team. You'll be joining a group people who are all richly talented, charmingly diverse, sometimes goofy, and 100% passionate about all things robots.

* Write code that is performant and maintainable. * Obsess a little over how secure your code is. We care deeply about our user’s privacy and you should, too. * Care about the small details of translating our product team’s vision for the app to code. You know your platform better than anyone, so be willing to participate in discussions about how things should work. * Support the team in prototyping or internal testing efforts. * Test and debug mobile apps using both coded and manually executed test cases on a wide variety of mobile devices. * Ship betas and prototypes often, so we can make sure we’re building the right thing and building things right. * Clearly communicate status and open issues to your team and manager. This is a collaborative role.

**Requirements:** * 2+ years of iOS development experience * Experience shipping production-quality code * Strong knowledge of React Native, Objective-C, latest iOS SDK * Familiarity with Swift, Java * Must have recent experience developing one or more apps for mobile platforms (iPhone, iPad, Android, or Android-based tablets), published apps preferred **Nice to Have, but Not Required:** * Have shipped a product recently * Experience with message oriented frameworks (e.g. MQTT) a plus
