Responsibilities
* Utilizing risk expertise and knowledge of industry and insurance market place, reviews client exposures and loss experience and develops solutions for standard client needs. * Understands nuances of client industry and the related risks associated with industry and provides advice accordingly. * Identifies the need for new products and develops/suggests innovative solutions to client and client team members. * Supports & assists in the design, development, and marketing of new insurance & risk products. * Contributes to the firm’s body of knowledge within product line through active internal communication. * Keeps abreast of changing risk and insurance market conditions. * Responsible for compliance with all applicable company protocols and applicable laws regarding Surplus Lines placement activities * Work directly with clients and internal colleagues to create coverage specifications to be submitted to carriers/markets companies. * Analyze quotes from carriers and provide analyses to clients and client team members, including but not limited to the following: pricing/rate, coverage, services, quote comparisons, financing, commentary and recommendation, identify differences against expiring coverage and/or competing quotes, claims made vs occurrence implications, surplus lines, subjectivities, loss projections, cash flows. * Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of programs to all quotes, binders, and modifications, based on client direction and communication. * Participates in pre-strategy meeting to create renewal strategy. * Responsible for creating the Renewal Strategy and Submission documents. * Responsible for following up and clearing any open items or subjectivities. * Prepares proposals and response to Requests for Proposals (RFPs). * Understands and complies with the Marsh Compliance and Transparency Standards. * Independently develops and presents full Risk Profiles. 17. Works with the environmental team, Client Executives and Producers, to support business development activities. * Must have an awareness and acumen regarding managing the business and achieving team business goals
Ideal Candidate
* University/college degree required. * 5 + years working in Environmental Insurance, with an in depth understanding of site-pollution and contractor’s pollution coverages. * Proven track record of success in insurance brokerage and/or underwriting, account management, servicing and business development/sales. * Strong client relationship management and communication (verbal & written) skills are required. * Strong understanding of knowledge of client risk issues, and an ability to evaluate and match client exposure needs to Marsh solutions. * Operates with discretion, uses effective problem solving & communication skills to achieve objectives. * In-depth knowledge of company policies, practices, and organization. * Consistent follow-up and fast response to client needs. * Must hold (or obtain as a condition of employment) insurance licenses. * Some travel required
