A mid-level position requiring excellent analytical skills and the ability to create business insights for large, multi-location clients
- Statistical analysis of customer intelligence data, including customer satisfaction surveys, field audits, mystery shop, contact center, and other data streams related to multi-location businesses. Analyses include descriptive statistics, text analytics, and linear regression.
- Ability to translate analyses into a meaningful story with powerful data visualizations. Data scientists MUST be able to translate complex analyses into a business story that drives decision-making for our clients using templates created by Market Force.
- Familiarity with traditional market research techniques like customer segmentation and/or loyalty brand tracking studies is a plus. Knowledge and experience with Customer Journey Mapping is a big plus.
- Supports client presentations on an as-needed basis.
- Leads or participates in the development of Market Force’s panel research program, including the development and fielding of questionnaires.
- Contributes to development of methodologies and processes for the team, including the Analytics and Insights Handbook.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None. May provide instruction to other colleagues in specialty areas like text analytics, data pulls and cleansing techniques, etc.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, market research, the social sciences, or related quantitative disciplines with at least some graduate education in advanced statistical techniques.
- Two years of statistics or analytics research experience
Computer Skills
- A proficient user of IBM SPSS statistical software, particularly the Base package
- Demonstrated ability to create innovative and compelling data visualizations with exceptional PowerPoint skills. Experience with Tableau a plus.
- Exceptional skills with Excel
- Experience with “big data” a plus, including use of R, Hadoop, Pattern, Predictive Model Markup Language (PMML), and other tools related to machine learning
Language Ability:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Reasoning Ability:
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to query data in ways that produce meaningful insights to clients
