The Electrical Controls Technician will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and replacing industrial equipment and machinery used in a food manufacturing environment. Industrial electrical experience and skills are essential for this position. Prior food manufacturing experience and experience with Computerize Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) is preferred
- Perform calibration, preventive maintenance and testing of equipment.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose problems and repair plant instrumentation and process systems.
- Install, start up and shut down equipment in accordance with company safety procedures.
- Communicate with operators and maintenance personnel on operation procedures and requirements for working safely with electrical/electronic components and equipment.
- Active participation in plant safety processes.
- Have 3 to 5 years of industrial experience in electronics, instrumentation, maintenance, calibration and process controls.
- Thorough knowledge of instrumentation, including calibration, repair and installation.
- Be able to install/program/troubleshoot Industrial Electrical Equipment, PLC, AC/DC Variable Speed Drives, and Human Machine Interfaces.
- Have complete knowledge of all current and voltage characteristics such as single phase, 3 phase, 110v, 220v, 440, 12.5kv and d.c. voltage.
- Instrumentation & Control Technician certification is highly desired.
- Have working knowledge of solid state circuitry and programmable controllers.
- Be able to work with various PC programs and operating systems.
- Have excellent time management, communications, decision making, human relations and organization skills. Able to resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Be able to work scheduled hours which could include shift work.
