The RTP Solution Architect (SA) SAS is an experienced team leader, and is required to have extensive previous experience implementing solutions on the SAS platform. The SA will be responsible for delivering feature releases through the full SDLC using Agile principles. For RTP, it is greatly beneficial for the SA to have previous experience in Healthcare and with Data and Analytic platform technologies.

* The candidate must have proven experience as an architect with Agile project leadership experience * Responsible for designing solutions for complex business requirements with core software components and frameworks that are loosely coupled and horizontally scalable * Responsible for SAS application and infrastructure architecture on our Cloud-based platform * Be a leader in all phases of the Agile software development lifecycle while working with cross-functional team members in a highly collaborative development environment * This candidate will be expected to lead a small team of Software Engineers * Evangelize newly developed best practices, architecture patterns, and software development frameworks & techniques with other teams within the organization * Responsible for creating Middleware Architectures based on SAS toolsets * Responsible for creating Service-Oriented Architectures based onSAS toolsets * Responsible for reliability and scalability; architectures and frameworks created must perform under load and at scale in Cloud-based horizontally scalable environments * Must lead the way by developing company standards for software architecture * Continually build the skills of colleagues through peer collaboration, mentoring and training

* Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent field of study * Requires 10 years of experience in software engineering * Requires 5 years of experience working in the SAS space * Preferred 5 years of experience as an architect * Requires in-depth knowledge of software development lifecycles and their utilization in software projects * Requires solid communication and interpersonal skills; with the ability to work constructively in a collaborative Agile team environment * Requires mastery of the SAS toolset and the knowledge of how to set up Cloud-based infrastructure for SAS implementations * Requires mastery of Object Oriented Programming techniques and methodologies in Java * Requires mastery of RESTful web services that meet industry standard maturity models * Requires mastery of automated and performance testing platforms; greatly beneficial to have experience with Selenium or JMeter * Requires mastery of schema design and data access methodologies in both relational databases and NoSQL database; greatly beneficial to have experience in HDFS, Cassandra, HBase, Parquet, Arrow, ElasticSearch or MongoDB * Greatly beneficial to have previous experience in the healthcare industry * Greatly beneficial to have hands-on experience in the Cloud; specifically AWS * Greatly beneficial to have hands-on experience with Open-Source projects * Greatly beneficial to have an understanding of Geocoding and Socioeconomic data analytics
