Lead Data Solution Architect

This Lead Data Solution Architect is going to be a valuable part of the great eBay Data Architecture team. This role will cover all aspects of strategy definition inclusive of partnering with internal and external stakeholders. The perfect candidate should be able to understand the data management and application development landscape. The individual will be leading critical aspects of application development and data management. We are looking for talented individual with in-depth technical knowledge and hands-on experience in areas of Data Management, Application Architecture, Product Development, Middleware, Data Streaming, RDBMS and NoSQL database platforms. As a Lead Data Solutions Architect, you will work closely with multiple architecture and product development teams across enterprise.

This is a hands-on position, requiring research, analysis and design of solutions appropriate to our business and technology strategies. The Architect will play a diverse and far-reaching role in the organization, providing leadership and influencing adoption of technical solutions, strategies and design patterns across multiple teams and stakeholders. * Create and design innovative systems and solutions to complex problems using eBay and leading-edge open-source technologies * Research, assess, and recommend technologies and products for their applicability to complex project requirements and contribute to the development of new product concepts. * Communicate your expertise in software design concepts, products and technologies in relevant domain areas. * Provide technical leadership across the company * Drive technical vision and architecture designs to consensus across multiple teams and stakeholders within eBay * Develop and document service interface, design and architecture specifications as well as patterns, standards, guidelines and technical best practices

**Skills:** * Strong hands-on experience as an Enterprise, Data and Application Architect. * Strong technical and communication skills. * Expert in distributed database system architecture principles * Ability to identify, define, create, and apply design patterns and standards. * Good knowledge of service oriented architecture (SOA) principles and Web services standards. * Experience in RESTful service design in a Java EE development environment * Excellent knowledge of Oracle, MongoDB, Cassandra, CouchBase and Big Data technologies such as: Hadoop, HBase, Spark etc. * Solid background in UNIX and Linux * Hands-on experiences in Oracle and NoSQL database platforms. * Strong understanding of Data Management principals, including Data Architecture, Data Modeling, Data Security, Database Administration and Database Management. * Great team player - work well independently and in collaborative, cross-discipline environments. **Preferred Qualifications:** * 10+ years of hands-on experience in areas of Application Development, Data Management, Data Architecture and / or Enterprise Architecture * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
