Summary
The Database Administrator will join our global technology team. Our clients use our flagship products, Fulcrum and Samplicio.us, to manage and execute complex, large-scale online sampling projects (surveys). Our development centers are located in New Orleans, Singapore, and Manila. The Database Administrator will be part of our development team in New Orleans and work closely with development team peers, Product Management team, business and other support teams.
Responsibilities
* Monitor and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Server 2014, associated jobs and processes. * Monitor performance of SQL Server and database infrastructure using various performance tools. * Ensure problems and error conditions are promptly and appropriately addressed. * Establish and maintain configuration and recovery documentation for SQL Server systems. * Assist with SQL Server installations, database migrations, upgrades and updates, and hardware implementations. * Perform TSQL code review and mentoring for development staff * Deploy SQL Server change scripts (stored procedures, functions etc.) as needed to various environments. * Manage SQL Server permissions for various environments. * Assist development and application teams with SQL Server problem resolution. * Perform other related duties as required. * Provides on-call support for production environments on a shared DBA rotation
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications** * 5+ years of experience in database development and production support of medium- to large-scale mission-critical MS SQL Server environments (multi- terabyte) * Experience with Always On or Mirroring in a production environment * Strong hands-on experience in Database Administration in SQL Server 2012 or 2014 * Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, always on or mirroring issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc. * Strong knowledge and experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools * Knowledge and experience of SQL Server tools ( Profiler, Redgate, SSMS, PerfMon, DMVs, system SPROCs) * Solid knowledge and experience with Windows Server, security delegation, SPNs, firewalls etc. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills * Experience providing SQL Database Operational support to technical and development users * Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention. **Preferred Qualifications** * An understanding of SSIS, SSRS, SSAS and source control (Redgate to GIT) in a database environment * Experience with AWS, Redshift and NoSQL * Experience with SQL Server 2014, In-Memory tables, DAX, MDX and Power BI * Someone who understands the binary language of moisture vaporators
