Responsibilities
  • Manages the data support team for the DHA PI Office which includes: Coordination of lead requests, assigning and oversight of special projects to the data team, extracting data from multiple large repositories.
  • Provide statistical expertise to the DHA PI Office which includes: forecasts and time series analysis, sampling, and researching statistical methods to uncover fraud and abuse
  • Mentors and provides guidance to junior staff
  • Routine Functions Performed:
  • Provides statistical expertise to the DHA PI leadership and the department
  • Manages the day to day tasks of the DHA PI data support team.
  • May perform data extracts and/or provides quality assurance for routine LRs, or data mining and analysis of special projects using SQL/SAS and EXCEL.
  • Research statistical methodologies to help uncover fraud and abuse for TRICARE
  • Attend anti-Fraud discussions and meetings to improve understanding of fraudulent activities.
Ideal Candidate

Basic Qualifications

  • Proficiency with SAS/STAT
  • Healthcare Industry experience
  • Good working knowledge of Excel and/or Access VBA
  • High Proficiency with Data Mining and Reporting
  • Expertise and experience in Economic Statistics
  • Visuals including SAS Graph, EXCEL
  • Computer Languages: 5 years SAS/SQL experience including Macros
  • Professional, Microsoft Office: including Excel, Access and PowerPoint
  • Ability to mentor and teach team members with basic analytical skills

Desired skills

  • Experience with the Military Health System, especially TRICARE
  • Experience with anti-Fraud techniques and processes
  • Knowledge of Statistical techniques including Regression, Correlation, and Variation
  • Knowledge of UNIX
  • Knowledge of SQL
  • Current Government Security Clearance
  • Degree in statistics, economics, epidemiology, applied mathematics
