Summary
The Graphic Design Intern is responsible for supporting the Design Team in the production of design and graphic solutions for packaging, advertising, consumer and trade collateral materials, trade show and event marketing materials and other communication forms, in both print and digital formats.
Responsibilities
**Guiding Principles-Culture- Service:** * Responsible for driving the Litehouse culture through company guiding principles * Accountable for outstanding customer service to all internal and external customers * Develop and maintain effective relationships through collaboration and consistent timely communication * Help uphold a “Team Member” environment supporting others with positive behavior * Ensure compliance with food safety and quality guidelines **Essential Functions and Responsibilities:** * Works with Graphic Designers, Graphic Design Supervisor and team to support new product and branding initiatives that are compatible with brand identity platform * Maintains and updates product packaging as advised by Graphic Designers, using Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop or InDesign as needed * Produces design elements in both print and digital formats based off pre-approved designs * Assists in maintaining website content * Follows approval sign off process and secures approval in advance of release from key individuals * Produces finished digital artwork files in appropriate formats for outside supplier needs * Maintains electronic graphic files and ensures files are updated and organized * Follow food safety and quality guidelines at all times. * Perform other duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Qualifications Required to Perform Work:** Working towards a degree or a recent graduate with a focus in graphic design or advertising communications or the equivalent from a four-year college. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:** * Packaged goods experience preferred but not essential * Mac based computer skills including Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop * Knowledge of advertising methods, media and strategy * Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization * Beginning to intermediate workable knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop * Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision as well as collaborate in team settings * Possess initiative to source information and gather answers to questions pertinent to the success of the project * Ability to plan and effectively organize work assignments **Physical Demands/Work Environment:** * Frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. * Occasionally required to stand and walk; lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. * Rarely required to lift/move/push/pull up to 55 lbs. with assistance. * Specific vision abilities require close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. * The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Compensation and Working Conditions
Hourly Pay $10 and up
Reports to Graphic Designer
