Logistics Sales Representative

Leggett & Platt is seeking a hardworking and industry savvy Sales Representative at our downtown logistics office in Chicago, IL - our office is located at 205 W. Wacker Drive. The position will be responsible for recruiting U.S. based companies that deal with full container imports and exports to join the Leggett & Platt Shippers Association (LPSA). The selected candidate will secure new opportunities while building upon and maintaining current business relationships. This position includes a base salary plus a monthly commission.

• Meet and exceed sales goals by developing new business and growing existing accounts
• Partner with the sales team to respond to customer needs and to build customer relationships
• Prepare monthly forecasts and continually develop and implement corrective action to improve forecasting accuracy
• Present price, credit, and payment terms in accordance with customer’s profitability profiles
• Accurately process customer transactions such as quotes, CCRs, or returns
• Attend industry functions and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends

• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience with international ocean logistics.
• 3-5 years of successful commission-based sales experience
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
