Summary
LaSalle Investment Management is currently seeking an Associate to join its Global Management Group in the firm’s Chicago office to assist in corporate strategic planning, business development, special projects and merger and acquisition activities The individual will report directly to LaSalle’s Global CEO and work very closely with LaSalle’ Global CFO and the leaders of its primary business units to assist them in driving profitable growth for the business.
Responsibilities
The primary responsibilities will include: * Analyzing LaSalle’s competitive positioning and emerging industry trends, * Supporting merger and acquisition discussions, * Helping to develop the strategic framework supporting LaSalle’s short term and long-term business plans and budgets, * Support driving productivity enhancements across the business, * Identifying global best practices, working on presentations to JLL’s Global Executive Board and Board of Directors, * and assisting senior managers with presentations for internal and external corporate and industry events. The role is intended to be an approximately two year position during which the successful candidate will get broad exposure to all aspects of LaSalle’s global business and work closely with its most senior leaders. At the end of the assignment, and subject to performance and interest, the individual will have an opportunity to move into one of LaSalle’s functional areas such as acquisitions, asset management, portfolio management, capital raising, real estate securities investment management or research and strategy. Note that this position has flexibility for the right candidate to start immediately, as well as a potential start date for summer 2016, for current MBA candidates.
Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. He/She needs to be able to thrive in a less structured role and support senior management across a broad variety of initiatives. As LaSalle is a global business, the individual needs to be able to understand and operate across diverse cultures and time zones. Additional qualifications and experience include: * 3-5 years of experience in investment management , consulting, investment banking or real estate acquisitions or development * Bachelor’s degree required; MBA in Finance or related field desired. * Ability to work in a results-oriented, project-driven, real-time team environment, prioritize projects, self-start and deliver quality results within tight time constraints. * Strong quantitative skills with significant experience in valuation modeling and analysis. * Ability to effect change across multiple organizational regions/teams. * Ability to think strategically as well as to act tactically. * Prior interaction with senior corporate level executives * Familiarity with M&A deal structures/forms – including JV’s, stock mergers, asset purchases, etc. * Excellent organizational skills. * Strong relationship and collaborative team building skills. * Thrives in a continuous improvement environment; Flexible and adaptable. * Excellent written and verbal communication skills. * Excellent working knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint. * Ability to travel will be required.
