Summary
The primary responsibility of the Emergency Medical Technician is to provide for the safety and protection of guests, team members, and company property. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian. The Palazzo Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Executes emergency response and evacuation procedures as directed by the manager - Monitors and assists in the enforcement of hotel policies and procedures; regulation 6; federal, state and local laws; and pertinent sections of company labor contracts. - Provides fire protection in all areas and inspects fire suppression and life safety equipment on a regular basis to ensure it is operational - Patrols and/or periodically inspects assigned areas constantly on the lookout for undesirable persons whose presence on the property is not considered to be in the best interest of the hotel/casino management or its guests. - Investigates all incidents, accidents, and/or events to include: taking initial report and conducting interviews with appropriate follow-up. - Maintains a visible and accessible profile among casino guests and team members to create a sense of security, to deter potential problems, and to answer questions. - Monitors suspicious persons in the hotel/casino, particularly those attempting to enter an unauthorized area. At the discretion of the shift manager, trespass undesirables and troublemakers. - Serves as a public relations officer and displays such by the service rendered to guests and fellow team members - Maintains and cares for medical supplies and equipment. - Maintains his/her certificate in a current status - Responds to all medical calls on the premises (Injury or Illness/Guest or Team Member) - Understands and assists team members with the filling out of Injury reports and works with Employee Claims department. - Complies with and enforces the Health Information Protection Act (HIPAA). - Anticipates potential problems and seeks ways to prevent disruption, injuries, and prohibited conduct from occurring on company premises. - Responds to emergency situations as requested and takes appropriate steps to rectify problems and at the same time minimize hotel liability. - Responds specifically to any type of medical situation on the premises. - Must maintain current and up to date with training concerning emergency medicine and basic life support techniques. - Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job - Performs other related duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
- 21+ years of age - Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States - High school Diploma or equivalent. - Ability to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English, both in oral and written form. - Have interpersonal skills with focused attention to guest needs to deal effectively with all business contacts. - Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company appearance standards. - Maintain consistent adherence to the Venetian and Palazzo Unmatched Guest Service Standards. - Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays. - Able to obtain/possess a valid Nevada Driver's License, Sheriff's Card and Techniques of Alcohol Management (TAM) Card. - Must have either a current Clark County Health District Emergency Medical Technician (Basic level) certificate or a National Emergency Medical Technician (Basic level) certificate. - Must possess a CPR card for the Professional Rescuer. - Prior experience in civilian or military law enforcement, casino/hotel security, or industrial security. - Excellent verbal & written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to investigate incidents, interview witnesses and draft legible, factual reports - Must have either a current Clark County Health District Emergency Medical Technician (Basic level) certificate or a National Emergency Medical Technician (Basic level) certificate. - Must possess a CPR card for the Professional Rescuer. Familiarity with federal, state and local laws pertaining to law enforcement and gaming. **Physical Requirements:** - Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, able to push and/or pull 200 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks assigned. - Work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment. - Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude while dealing effectively with guests, management, team members, and outside contacts while working under pressure and meeting deadlines. - Withstand various activities such as frequent walking, sitting for long periods and withstand prolonged standing, stretching, bending and kneeling without restriction. - Be able to work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to CRT fatigue, noise, dust, cigarette smoke, and be able to access all areas of the property. - Must maintain a positive attitude toward work and interface with hotel guests in a congenial and polite manner. - Must be able to address stressful situations with clients with dignity and the utmost tact and politeness. - Must be able to touch and handle supplies in a safe and non-hazardous manner, maintaining proper hygiene, cleanliness, and disposal methods.
