Business Analyst

L-3 is a prime contractor in aerospace systems. L-3 is also a leading provider of a broad range of communication and electronic systems and products used on military and commercial platforms.

The Business Analyst will be responsible for analyzing business and manufacturing processes to determine how to increase throughput and quality while reducing waste (time, money, materials, energy, etc.), implementing statistical process control concepts and standard work practices, and creating/maintaining/reporting performance metrics.

* Strong involvement with manufacturing floor is required. * Familiar with manufacturing terminology and practices. * Knowledgeable in VBA, C++, SQL, or equivalent programming language. * Collects and analyzes data to establish performance levels and help determine root causes of problems. * Creates metrics to be used to track key process indicators and help identify opportunities for improvement. * Knowledgeable in Continuous Process Improvement techniques (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.). * Performs cost control/reduction, inventory/WIP control, and forecasting analysis. * Helps defines requirements and create business cases for acquisition of new technologies. * Establishes methods for maximum utilization of production facilities and personnel. * Conducts surveys and performs benchmarking activities to identify best practices. * Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others to accomplish tasks, share lessons learned, and present results/findings. * Ability to maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, and judgment at all times.

* This position requires a Bachelors degree in Business, Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent; * Proficiency with MS Office is desired. * Knowledge of Six Sigma/Lean/TOC concepts is desired. * Experience with SPC concepts is a plus
