KLA-Tencor was formed in April 1997 through the merger of KLA Instruments (KLA) and Tencor Instruments (Tencor), two long-time leaders in the semiconductor equipment and yield management software system industry. Prior to the merger, both businesses served a segment of the inspection and metrology area; with KLA focused on defect inspection solutions and Tencor placing its emphasis on metrology solutions.
Responsibilities
The individual will be responsible for development of the next generation metrology tool platform as well as continuing improvement (CIP) of the current tools. The candidate will be responsible for key mechanical engineering tasks, from requirement specification, conceptual and detail design, prototype integration, testing, documentation and release to manufacturing. The detail design activities include system-level layout, structural design, Pneumatic/vacuum plumbing design, sheet metal design, electrical packaging, etc., using Creo Parametric as the design tool. The candidate must participate in the design process in cross-discipline teams including System Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and other groups within K-T worldwide organization. He/she needs to exercises independent judgment in developing methods, techniques and Perform analysis as needed to verify new designs. The candidate is also expected to champion his/her designs throughout the release process and generate all required engineering documentation until they are fully released to manufacturing.
Ideal Candidate
**Preferred Qualifications** * Require 5+ years of experience in general mechanical design and engineering. * Good communication and team working skills are required. * Must have good understand in physics and mechanics. * The candidate must be able to generate system-level layout with all-around engineering consideration * Must have experience in structural design, sheet metal design and electrical packaging . * Must be familiar with mechanical manufacturing processes including milling, turning, sheet metal fabrication, welding, etc. * Must be proficient in 3D CAD modeling tools. Strongly prefer Creo Parametric * Experience in structure/vibration analysis and thermal analysis is a plus. **Minimum Qualifications** * Bachelor's Level Degree with at least 5 years of experience.
