A Kforce client, one of the largest Travel and Tourism firms in the world is seeking a Web Developer to join their team in New York, New York (NY). This firm is searching for a well-rounded UI Engineer who has developed and maintained UIs for high-volume transactional e-Commerce websites.
- Implement and maintain user interface (UI) layer of our high-volume transactional e-commerce websites
- Use HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery to design and build UIs within a .NET team environment
- Use well known JavaScript libraries and frameworks to build scale-able and maintainable JavaScript applications or utility libraries
- Work with .NET software engineers to ensure UI and .NET back-end process work well together
- Work with user experience (UX) designers in the creative design of UIs for the client's high-volume transactional e-Commerce websites
- Develop and maintain UIs for our high-volume transactional e-commerce websites
- Translate Photoshop designs and mockups into working web pages
- Analyze and resolve UI-related problems in our production environments for our high-volume transactional e-commerce websites
- Participate in assigned tasks in the lifecycles and the Research and Development of different tools and technologies that make the maintenance of the Online Technology e-Commerce websites more efficient from a UI perspective
- Adhere to front-end best practices and advocate them to the team
- Stay abreast of new front-end technologies and suggest them if they would be useful for projects
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and/or equivalent professional front-end experience
- 3+ years of UI experience, including building cross-browser UIs that function in all modern browsers
- HTML4, XHTML1.1, HTML5
- CSS2.1, CSS3
- Object-Oriented JavaScript
- jQuery
- Ajax
- JSON/JSON-P
- 3+ years of experience translating design mockups and prototypes into working websites
- Experience using Adobe Photoshop for building websites: splicing images, image optimization, image sprites, etc
- 3+ years of experience with front-end development practices: SMACSS/OOCSS, minification, concatenation, Firebug, Chrome DevTools, etc
- 1+ years of experience with CSS preprocessors, such as LESS and SCSS
- 1+ years of experience with JavaScript MV* frameworks, such as AngularJS
- 1+ years of experience with CSS frameworks, such as Bootstrap
- 1+ years of experience with web accessibility: tabindex, alt attributes, ARIA, section 508, etc
- 1+ years of experience in an Agile working environment
Bonus Qualifications:
- Experience building UIs for e-Commerce websites a strong plus
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio IDE and plugins
- Experience with responsive design frameworks, such as Twitter Bootstrap
- Basic experience with version control systems
- Basic experience with XML and XSLT
