Summary
The successful candidate for the Strategic Insights & Analytics – Customer Insights Analyst position will have a significant impact on the success of Johnsonville Sausage sales by working closely with the marketing and sales teams and assigned retail customers to provide data insights and analysis, information support, and training. This position focuses on: Customer Engagement with our strategic retail partners. Capability and tool development. Category Leadership Programs and Analysis Development. Additionally, the candidate must become an expert in syndicated data for Johnsonville, providing the insights, reports, and tools that will drive the Johnsonville business forward.
Responsibilities
* Perform ad-hoc sales, marketing, and/or customer specific analyses; e.g. identify and explain the “why,” identify distribution opportunities, develop promotion recommendations, etc. * Support customer teams by leveraging syndicated data and customer card data to drive opportunities and mitigate risks * Work with Johnsonville retail customers in category and brand analysis where appropriate * Create, analyze and deliver marketing and sales reports utilizing a variety of reporting tools and data sources * Leverage Johnsonville pricing and assortment tools to collaborate with marketing and sales to accurately forecast volume and/or share based on price, promotion, or assortment changes * Develop syndicated data tools that can be leveraged to drive Johnsonville sales * Assist in custom analytic projects; e.g. marketing mix, price elasticity, etc. * Assist in advanced syndicated panel data analyses * Build strong collaborative partnerships with cross-functional team members and research partners; e.g. Nielsen, IRI, Market Track, EmpowerIT, etc.
Ideal Candidate
**Education:** * Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Accounting, Finance or a related field required **Experience:** * Strong analytical skills with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience working successfully with numerical data and information required * Syndicated POS data tool experience (i.e. IRI Unify, Nielsen Nitro/Answers) strongly desired * Customer POS and loyalty card data experience strongly preferred * Familiarity with pricing and marketing mix analyses strongly preferred * Basic project management experience desired * Experience in the CPG industry a plus **Skills and Competencies:** * Excellent computer skills (Excel and PowerPoint required, Access preferred) * Excellent communication, organization and presentation skills (written and oral) * Ability to tell a story with data * Genuine interest in proactive analysis and asking “what’s next?” * Ability to contribute to strong team environment with positive and constructive input and desire to improve the SI&A team and function * Highly motivated self-starter who enjoys working in a project-oriented environment with the ability to juggle many projects at one time
