Summary
James Hardie cost accountants are crucial members of both our Finance and Manufacturing teams. Not only do they ensure the proper accounting and controls are executed in each of our plants, they also are excellent analysts and story tellers. As a member of this team, you will know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You’ll partner with all eight of James Hardie’s US manufacturing plants to implement accounting best practices and ensure compliance to GAAP, SOX and company policies. You enjoy being part of a team, sharing best practices with your peers and eagerly learning from others. Speed is your game and you will move fast without compromising quality and integrity of work. James Hardie cost accountants are flexible, highly motivated and analytical with strong communication skills and a drive for continuous improvement. As a Cost Accountant in this organization, you will use your expertise in accounting, SOX and process to enhance our accounting processes in the plant. You will have the opportunity to work with co-workers across the Finance organization and within the Plants. You will have the opportunity to learn about manufacturing in James Hardie and will share your ideas, create opportunities and influence the accounting processes within the plant.
Responsibilities
- dentify, analyze and implement process improvements around accounting and control processes - Manage the accounting review processes across all eight plants and provide summary results to Plant and Manufacturing Management - Proactively analyze specific plant balance sheet accounts with the intent of gaining a deep understanding of the content, trends and variations - Collaborate with other functions to facilitate corporate initiatives - Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and subject matter expertise for your area of responsibility - Travel 25-40%, depending on specific projects
Ideal Candidate
- BS/BA in Accounting, Finance or a related field, manufacturing preferred - CPA, Completion of CPA Exam or CMA, preferred - Three or more years of cost accounting experience - Demonstrated experience with ERP systems software and Microsoft Office capability - Strong understanding of GAAP, Sarbanes Oxley, - Excellent organizational and communications skills
