Principal Product Manager

Infinera empowers network operators to scale bandwidth while accelerating service innovation and simplifying optical network operations. Service providers, cloud operators, governments and enterprises across the globe rely on Infinera Intelligent Transport Networks to create rich end-user experiences based on efficient, high bandwidth optical networks.

You will be driving the definition, implementation, and go-to-market for Infinera’s new data center focused products targeting Internet Content Providers, Data Center Operators, and Large Enterprises. The role involves working closely with Sales, Marketing, Technical Support and Product Engineering to define and execute product strategy, release content, and go-to-market plans.

* Specify product requirements with inputs from Sales, Marketing and Systems Architecture groups * Participate in engineering specification reviews to ensure a high degree of product performance, usability, and scalability * Work with cross-functional product teams to carry out the product executions plans * Work to define pricing strategy for hardware and software products * Manage the lifecycle of products from concept to end-of-life * Support sales and marketing activities to drive product sales growth

* The position requires product management experience in data center and/or datacom. * Experience in the following technology areas is desired... * DWDM/Optical transport platforms * IP/MPLS routing and switching platforms * Data center networking including SDN and NFV * Previous engineering experience in a similar field is highly desired, but not mandatory. * MS degrees in Engineering, Computer Science or Operational Research, and/or MBA is highly preferred but not mandatory. * Successful candidate must be highly energetic, motivated, and enjoy being in a high impact business role * Qualified candidate must be able to operate with minimal supervision, have the ability to build virtual teams to manage product deliverables, and work in a multi-tasking environment across organizational boundaries * Successful candidate must be a strategic thinker and a problem solver with excellent presentation and customer facing skills
