Design Engineer

IDEX is organized in three business segments to optimize our market strategies, better serve our customers and provide a solid foundation for both organic and acquisitive growth. IDEX Fluid & Metering Technologies systems are used in a wide variety of severe duty and/or highly precise fluid-handling applications around the world.

Design new products and manage new product development projects and teams to meet market requirements. Provide technical and information support to marketing, field service, and customers.

* Design new products and redesign/modify existing components and products. * Manage project schedules working with marketing, manufacturing, procurement to launch products * Investigate design concepts proposed by marketing i.e. feasibility, cost, function, and operating parameters/limitations. * Plan, design and document new products by performing calculations, making layouts, drawings, creating programs, etc. * Present project updates to senior management. * Follow IDEX NPD stage gate process. * Manage external IDEX engineering resources * Support (technical and engineering) to marketing, field service, sales and customers regarding technical information and engineering problems. * Investigate/create engineering change requests to improve product, correct errors, facilitate production, and reduce cost. * First Article Acceptance inspections to specifications and drawing dimensions. * Establish new part numbers through Corken’s NEASE process. * Help to enhance Corken’s work instructions, assembly procedures, and test procedures.

* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree. * Minimum 5 yrs. experience in product design engineering. **Preferred Education and Experience** * Design experience in Compressors and pumps preferred. * ProE/Creo CAD experience preferred. **Additional Eligibility Qualifications** * Computer literate * Microsoft Office * Detail minded, perseverance * Problem solver with excellent technical ability * Self-motivated & action oriented * Drive for results **Preferred Eligibility Qualifications** * Strong mechanical aptitude
