Project Engineer

Hendrickson is a designer and manufacturer of suspension systems and components for heavy-duty trucks.

Hendrickson is searching for a Project Engineer to join their New Products team working on front suspensions. This person will work out of our Woodridge, IL Tech Center. They will manage all technical aspects of multiple and/or major projects utilizing our Product Planning and Development Procedure.

* Designs, validates, provides test reports and sign-off documents, and ensures production readiness. * Coordinates with CAD, FEA and laboratory personnel and interfaces with other departments in support of the above. * Coordinates the technical design and test aspects on projects with suppliers and customers. * Provides continuous improvement through employee development, process improvement and elimination of waste. Helps to assure safety in the lab and office. * Other duties as assigned.

**The successful candidate will posses:** * Bachelor of Science degree in engineering required. BSME/BSAgE/BSAroeE preferred * 4 - 6 years experience in vehicle structural design (preferable heavy or medium duty truck) with exposure to dynamic structural analysis, finite element analysis, fatigue analysis, and product design. * Demonstrated ability to meet product development deadlines. * Demonstrated product innovation **Preferred skills/experience:** * Electrical or brake experience a plus. * Project management experience preferred. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred * APQP, DFMEA, and the ability to manage and create Design Verification Plan & Report (DVP&R) * Design for assembly & manufacturing (DFMA) * G8D or similar problem solving tools * Suspension kinematic design and analysis experience * Structural design experience. Fatigue test experience using reliability and confidence simulation. Individuals with FEA experience is a plus. * Quality systems experience. An individual with Red X Master or similar certification and/or Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) certification is preferred
