UX/UI Designer

- Lead UX and UI design on StoryPilot and other future HI products - Create data visualizations for StoryPilot, research projects, and future HI products/services - Create and manage front-end assets for our web developer - Collaborate with and learn from social scientists on social science theories and studies - Collaborate with and learn from data scientists on data sets, processes, and algorithms - Design print material for HI, StoryPilot, and other products/services - Perform user research with storytellers, funders, and social issue advocates

- Interest in HI’s mission and the nonprofit sector Passionate about media, social issue storytelling, and social impact - 4+ years of professional experience with product, web, and mobile design and data visualization - Bachelor’s degree required, Masters degree preferred in Design & Technology, Interaction Design, or related field Skills and Knowledge: Expertise in: - Web and mobile design - Data visualization - Visual design using grid-based layouts, color, and typography - Design process including user research, prototyping, and wireframes - Front-end web and/or software development skills and experience with mobile applications preferred
