Handshake provides the B2B Commerce platform for manufacturers and distributors that powers standout ordering experiences both in-person and online.

Summary

As an iOS Engineer at Handshake, you'll build mission-critical iOS applications used daily by thousands of sales professionals to power hundreds of brands on 6 continents. Working on the same team as Product Managers, Designers, Python Engineers and Front-End Engineers, you will build and improve applications that are a critical part of how every product reaches every shelf worldwide.

* Handshake engineers solve difficult technical problems to make the lives of our users easier. Some of the biggest challenges our iOS Engineers are solving right now are:

**Consumer Quality at Commercial Scale**

* Our iOS app replaces printed product catalogues, clipboards and order sheets, allowing sales professionals to quickly search a complex web of customers and products, and to even more quickly place an order for a new or existing customer.

* We invest in delighting our users with seamless and intuitive UX for complex data, rather than accepting the enterprise software status quo and hiding behind training manuals.

**Sync -- A Distributed Approach**

* Handshake's UX mandate is to always be faster and better than pen-and-paper, even with spotty or no available internet.

* 
To provide consistently excellent experiences that satisfy these demanding needs of our users requires us to look at each mobile device as an authority, rather than a traditional client.

* Reconciling competing orders, updates to the product catalogue, and changes to customer info from hundreds of mobile devices in an automatic and performant way is a challenge we're constantly trying to improve on.
