- Manages financial statement review processes and advises Sr. Management on major financial activity.
- Researches and implements accounting practices to increase financial reporting accuracy.
- Oversees quarterly/annual corporate income tax/accounting provision calculations for all domestic and foreign businesses as regulated ASC 740.
- Provides financial reporting strategy recommendations on proposed expansionary projects such as M&A’s, capital investitures, amortization schedules, etc.
- •Oversees various external audit processes pertaining to federal regulations such as SOX testing, etc.
- Provides multiple financial models to strategize on various corporate budget/forecast initiatives.
- Maintains relationships with federal, state and local agency officials to respond to various accounting, filing, or other financial issue considerations.
- Review and assesses internal financial software capabilities and identifies areas for improvement to increase reporting efficiency.
- Provides guidance, training and direction to all members of the corporate finance team
- Proactively adjusts company accounting policies in compliance with upcoming regulation requirements or pending changes to current laws.
- Acts as a backup to various corporate finance functions, as needed.
- Assists with other projects, as needed.
- CPA required
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent
- Experience in the interpretation of all SEC regulated consolidated financial statements to Sr. Management
- Experience with merger and acquisitions financial reporting
- Advanced knowledge of generally acceptable accounting principles, FASB and SOX regulations and general ledger practices
- Understanding of financial tracking and reporting software
- Excellent organizational skills, ability to prioritize multiple priorities and strong attention to detail.
- Computer skills including MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel PowerPoint.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate (verbal/writing) effectively.
- Self-motivated and strong analytical / problem solving skills.
- Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Preferred knowledge of the Consumer Product Goods Industry.
- Work with minimal supervision execute for results in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to empower, motivate and inspire staff.
- Previous supervisory experience a plus.
- Ability to lead change and execute on strategic decisions.
- Conflict resolution skills
