[Wastewater] Staff Engineer

2013 marks H2M’s 80th anniversary. We were founded in the midst of the Great Depression by Henry “Gus” Holzmacher, who courageously started a modest civil engineering and land surveying practice out of his Bethpage, Long Island home in 1933. The nascent Grumman Aviation was his primary client.

H2M Architects + Engineers, a multidiscipline architectural, engineering, environmental consulting firm seeks a Staff Engineer with 1 to 3 years of experience for their growing Suffern, NY office.

* Perform design, computations, and evaluations associated with civil, storm water and wastewater projects. * Develop construction documents and specifications for a full range of municipal civil engineering projects. * Prepare due diligence and site feasibility studies. * Perform site investigations to assess and document field conditions. * Respond to and address regulatory comments to obtain agency approvals. * Perform project administration including gathering information, drafting proposals, drafting correspondence, tracking project costs, and preparing reports. * Client interaction and teamwork with other disciplines. * Conduct field inspections at construction sites and interact with contractors.

* Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering or closely related discipline. * Strong computer skills including AutoCAD and Civil 3D, Microsoft Office Applications and Photoshop. * 1 to 3 years design experience with a specific focus on storm water or wastewater projects. * Knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices of related technical areas. * Team-spirited and self-motivated * Focused and eager to learn. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * EIT desired.
