Summary
Groupon is looking for a tenacious, self-starting Senior Financial Analyst to support the ever-changing North America Groupon Goods business. This fast pace start up role will partner closely with the VP of Merchandise in order to redefine the businesses as we grow from $1B to $2B in revenue with a primary focus in two areas: controllership (safeguarding the company’s assets) and business support (using data and analytics to improve profitability and expand revenue growth).
Responsibilities
* Help launch our Stores marketplace and insure proper economics are achieved. * Create new pricing framework to insure margin targets are achieved. * Work cross departmentally with Marketing to insure correct asset allocation & ROI is met for Display, SEM & SEO. * Manage our vendor portfolio by negotiating days payable vs. deal margin & creating vendor profitability metrics. * Build scalable solutions to complex problems rooted in data and analytics such as optimization of inventory health, product pricing, and order economics * Create and manage forecasting models for the weekly, monthly, and annual planning processes * Manage the monthly accounting close review process to ensure all entries are booked timely and accurately, and produce variance analysis vs. prior forecasts * Complete P&L ownership from top line revenue growth down through gross profit for a +$1B commerce company. * Plan headcount and budget for a 150+ person organization * Assist in vendor negotiations and contract reviews * Lead and prioritize cost-reduction efforts through data-centric financial analysis, engaging with-cross functional teams to share best practices (marketing, accounting, operations, etc.) * Frequent and direct interaction with the upper echelon of the company for both tactical and strategic projects
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree and at least 3+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance * Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (macros, pivots, lookups), Access, SQL and/or VBA * Ability to translate complex analytical data into an easily-understandable format * Ability to learn quickly and thrive in a rapidly-growing company * Highly analytical and detail-oriented * Strong backbone with an ability to effectively articulate and communicate analysis and influence business partner’s decisions * Results-oriented, highly energetic, dynamic individual with hands-on mentality * Proven ability to think outside the box and develop new ideas and creative solutions to problems * Comfortable with a fast-paced, always-on, start-up environment
