Summary
You will perform fulfillment planning and analysis, problem solving, and risk mitigation to develop compute infrastructure plans for our production fleet. You will collaborate with all organizational levels to ensure Google's services can be deployed in a time, place and configuration which is ideal for serving Google's users. You must demonstrate the ability to provide matrix leadership across functional teams, lead complex projects to successful completion, evaluate capacity utilization data, and understand complex technologies affecting Google services and users.
Responsibilities
* Work with Google Engineering groups to create resource plans related to the delivery and management of Google's compute infrastructure, from machines to networking to data center infrastructure. * Develop plans to deliver compute resources under a set of implementation and delivery time constraints, optimizing across a complex blend of cost and allocation priorities. * Collaborate with Platforms, Application, Finance and Operations teams to evaluate new technologies and their impact to the production fleet, define technology transition strategies, and develop forecasts. * Define next-generation planning processes and tools to scale with Googles growth, working with software engineering teams to define and implement data architecture and automation requirements.
Ideal Candidate
* BA/BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent practical experience. **Preferred qualifications** * MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field. * 5 years of server, data center, networking or large-scale operations experience. * Experience with capacity planning, operations planning, and/or launching Internet software/services and large scale distributed systems. * Proven analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail. * Ability to interact with diverse technical and non-technical groups spanning all organizational levels. * Outstanding planning and communication skills.
