Summary
Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a Project Scientist for the Lansing, Michigan location.
Responsibilities
* Drilling, field sampling and investigation of environmental media; * Aquifer test data collection, evaluation and analysis; * Oversight of on-site contractors (e.g. drilling, line locating, surveying, etc) * Interpreting geologic, hydrogeologic, and other site information; * Preparation of field reports, boring and well logs, final reports; * Designing and managing field investigations; * Preparing proposals and assisting with business development activities; * Interacting with environmental regulators and clients.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelors degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, environmental engineering, MS preferred * 4-6 years practical environmental consulting experience; emphasis on water resources projects preferred; * Excellent verbal and written communication skills; * A positive attitude and the ability to work both independently and within groups, demonstrate task or team leadership experience; * The ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and operate/maintain field testing equipment; * The ability and willingness to travel; travel is estimated at 25% -50% depending on project requirements; * Experience with software such as MS Office suite, GINT, and other common software packages, GIS expertise is a plus; * Completed 40-hour OSHA Hazwoper health and safety training and current 8-hour refresher course; OSHA 10-hour construction safety course is a plus;
