Summary
Golder Associates Inc. is currently seeking a Geotechnical Engineer for the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania location. In this role you will have the opportunity to work as part of a team on civil, geotechnical and geological engineering projects. Our ideal candidate will be required to perform geotechincal evaluations and calculations, subsurface investigations, and provide field monitoring, testing, and sampling for a variety of projects.
Responsibilities
* Scope, budget, execute, and interpret subsurface explorations, with senior technical advice and review. * Prepare geotechnical data reports, calculations and modeling. * Prepare geotechnical recommendations reports with senior review * Ability to work with a team or with minimal supervision, and with contractors and cross-discipline in-house designers * Be willing and able to work on projects across sectors, performing a variety of suitable tasks as projects demand. * Assist with writing reports, cost estimating, specifications, and permit documents with senior technical advice and review. * Assignments may include travel to remote locations and outside work in various climates.
Ideal Candidate
* A BS in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering and a MS in Geotechnical Engineering * Minimal experience required in the civil, geological, mining or environmental engineering field, with appropriate degree. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills combined with excellent analytical abilities, leadership ability, a positive attitude and ability to work both independently and within groups. * The position requires travel and field work as dictated by project demands. * FE/EIT registration * Competence in the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is necessary * Additional desirable skills include: field logging and sampling, experience with slope stability, settlement, general civil design experience, construction experience, rock engineering, or other geotechnical analyses * A willingness to perform a variety of assignments on short notice is valuable * Experience and proficiency with AutoCAD is preferred
