Summary
The Technical Business Analyst will be collaborating with a strong team of fellow employees, and will get to work with some of the largest companies in the US, as we build out solutions for one of the country's largest concerns, health insurance. We employ an agile methodology (Scrum) and fully embrace the fundamentals of continuous improvement, just-in-time requirements, active stakeholder participation, only as much documentation as is truly needed and processes that make sense for the organization (not for the sake of process). There are times when we do produce some traditional project artifacts at the request of our clients, so it is important that someone in this role embraces agile, but is also well versed in other methodologies.
Responsibilities
**General Business Analysis:** * Conduct requirements analysis via information gathering sessions with business users and technical staff, workshops, and meetings to define business requirements. Then develop supporting process flows * Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high level information into details, abstract up low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs * Conduct analysis and documentation of existing business processes; recommend process improvements * Provide business analysis services in support of both organizational, and client engagement initiatives * Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task and work flow analysis * Perform business analysis and systems analysis for complex initiatives and projects **Agile Business Analysis:** * Work with product owners to develop epics and stories, and break down epics into smaller stories and work with the development team to define and estimate the stories * Integrate business analysis practices and techniques with both Agile (i.e. Scrum) and Waterfall software development approaches * Work as a part of the development team to deliver potentially shippable increments of capacity in short, regular, iterations * Apply knowledge and experience of Agile practices and techniques in support of cross-team initiatives for teams outside of technology * Manage a 'Just-in-time' requirements management process * Facilitate Agile Planning and Estimation workshops
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelors Degree (MIS/CIS or Computer Science preferred). * At least 5 years of professional Business Analyst experience working with a software development team. Preference given to individuals with Saas experience. * Comfortable executing projects using multiple methodologies including Waterfall and Agile/Scrum as required. * Knowledge and experience in various techniques to elicit, analyze, and communicate requirements. * Experience working on multiple project types (COTS, new development, enhancements/support) across multiple business areas. * Experience with diagramming tools and creating user stories. * Enjoys working in a fast-paced, ever changing development environment; must be flexible and willing to re-prioritize as needed. * Self starter with the experience and aptitude to work independently and in collaboration with the team.
