Summary
The Staff Accountant position will be responsible for the daily processing of global payments for corporate accounts payable. Duties will include scanning vendor invoices, compiling data, classifying records, coding invoices, obtaining required approvals, and verifying and maintaining payments records.
Responsibilities
* Process accounts payable payments with accuracy and in a timely manner * Electronic storage of vendor invoices and distribution for internal approvals * Proper coding of payables invoices * Liaison with internal events coordinators * Reconcile events tracking systems with respective expenses * Prepare monthly intercompany entries * Answer accounts payable vendor and management inquiries * Assist in monthly close process and annual external audit * Interact and communicate in a professional manner with employees and vendors * Investigate payment processing related issues * Process daily wire payments using online banking systems * Reconcile and allocate significant vendor invoices amongst internal departments
Ideal Candidate
**An ideal candidate will have the following:** * BA/BS in Accounting/Finance with an Accounting concentration * 0-2 years accounts payable experience * Highly detail-oriented * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – this role requires a lot of interaction * Strong work ethic and desire to advance within the field of accounting * Any knowledge of Great Plains or another large Accounting software program is preferable * Knowledge of MS Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint **We seek bright, positive and flexible people who also:** * Act with the highest integrity and professionalism in all their endeavors * Utilize superior analytical and problem-solving skills * Think creatively and focus on opportunities for growth, leading others to do the same * Express a strong desire to work in a team * Respond effectively to management direction and clients’ needs * Demonstrate the ability and initiative to handle increasing responsibility over time
