Summary
GLG has traditionally been organized by industry specialty. Teams of client-facing Research Professionals, each charged with specific industry specialization, function as thought partners to our clients. In addition to this industry-focused approach, GLG has formed a team of Research Professionals to focus on the Hedge Fund market, and who are capable of maneuvering in every industry. Members of the Hedge Fund Solutions team work closely with the Account Management and Sales team to support a dedicated book of current, and prospective, hedge fund relationships. Research Professionals design and facilitate the customized research solutions that our clients request, creating innovative solutions on each client assignment. In addition, Research Professionals will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and structuring of products geared specifically to the hedge fund community. Members of the Client Solutions team serve as a dedicated point of contact for their clients, regardless of the clients’ approach to their research.
Responsibilities
* Revenue Promotion * Work in small, collaborative teams comprised of professionals from both Hedge Funds Client Solutions and Business Development to own, grow, and promote client relationships and revenue. * Independently own full accountability and responsibility for a full slate of complex clients by serving as a thought partner to design and deliver on custom projects – e.g., consultations, surveys, and special projects – creating innovative solutions on each assignment. * Suggest innovation around products and services that will lead to growth in usage and revenue from your clients and the hedge fund market broadly, and work with Research, Sales, and product teams to bring ideas to fruition. * Membership Management * Build relationships with investment professionals at leading hedge funds. * Deliver world-class client service marked by high levels of responsiveness, accuracy, insight, urgency, attention to detail, professionalism, follow-through, and enthusiasm, and serve as an example of excellence in client service to others within GLG. * Establish and foster strong relationships with GLG’s primary asset, its experts, both by bringing new experts into the GLG Councils and by treating current experts with respect for their time and contributions. * Content Navigation * Develop and maintain broad knowledge of issues and events relevant to the hedge fund market. * Work with knowledge leaders in Practice Areas to ensure deeper understanding of particularly relevant issues. * Compliance & Confidentiality * Exercise flawless judgment around GLG’s policies and procedures for protecting the integrity of client engagements. * Clearly communicate to clients the integrity and value of GLG’s compliance platform. * Suggest innovation around GLG’s compliance platform to minimize friction for clients and/or experts, and work with compliance and product teams to execute. * Collaboration * Train and mentor colleagues to ensure excellence in revenue promotion, membership management, content navigation, and compliance. * Contribute to key strategic initiatives as requested by GLG leadership.
Ideal Candidate
**For this specific position, the following factors will strengthen an applicant’s candidacy:** * Bachelors or higher degree from a top-tier university (or equivalent work experience), with an undergraduate or graduate GPA of 3.3 or better * 2-5 years of experience in financial services in a client-facing or analyst role, or commensurate experience in consulting, law, journalism, advertising,or other relevant field * Understanding and awareness of financial markets through educational and/or professional background * Superior communication skills, including oral, written, and presentation abilities * Demonstrated commitment, judgment, emotional maturity, and intensity, ideally in a fast-paced, multi-task-oriented environment * Strong commercial acumen and account management skills **More broadly, we seek bright, positive and flexible people who:** * Act with the highest integrity and professionalism in all their endeavors * Lead others to do the same * Have creative and entrepreneurial mindset; are interested in helping to build a business and to be compensated according to performance * Have demonstrated ability and initiative to handle increasing responsibility over time
