Network Engineer

Geneva Trading is a Principal Trading Firm with offices in downtown Chicago and Dublin, Ireland. We are committed to ongoing development of our traders and employees.

- Establishing networking environment by designing system outline - Leading system installation - Monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems - Configuration of routing and switching equipment - Capable of executing new solutions and improving existing systems - Documenting network problems and resolutions - Updating security programs and periodic changing of passwords - Responsible for backfilling more senior level network personnel when needed - Willingness to be on call as necessary - Configuration of firewalls

- 3+ years of experience in trading industry is a plus - B.S degree in Computer Science or technical engineering degree highly preferred - Ability to pass background checks for colo access - Experience with Cisco IOS, Nexus operating systems and hardware platforms - LAN/WAN routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, 802.1q trunking) - Multicast (PIM, IGMP) - Experience with protocol analyzers such as Wireshark - The ability to work under pressure, primarily when systems fail - Strong organizational skills and a passion for networking - CCNP certified or higher - CCIE certified is a plus - Python scripting is a plus - Arista switch is a plus - VOIP experience including QoS is a plus - Network Management (SNMP) experience is a plus
