Summary
General Mills is seeking a Building Electrician to professionally respond to customer requests and perform maintenance and repair work while safely, effectively, and efficiently operating and maintaining all HVAC equipment.
Responsibilities
* Follow all General Mills safety standards * Be responsible for maintenance, repair and operation of HVAC electrical equipment, variable frequency drives, process control instrumentation, pumps, air handling units, chillers, boilers, air compressors, thermostats, variable air vales, and commercial/residential kitchen appliances * Performs daily operation, inspect, maintain, repair or assist in the repair of the buildings Energy Management System, Building Automated System, Fire Alarm System, and Lighting Systems when required * Follow Safety and Regulatory compliance – assist in ensuring compliance with all Company, City, State and Federal safety and environmental laws, codes, standards and regulations; comply with all company and local policies including National Fire Protection Association and National Electric Code. * Perform electrical preventative maintenance and predictive maintenance techniques * Order, stock, and inventory parts and supplies * Manage and monitor various building related items such as budgets, critical parts, contractor services, etc. * Assume additional duties as delegated by the Lead Building Engineer or Master Electrician
Ideal Candidate
* 2 years of relevant experience required * High School Diploma required, Associates degree in Electronics preferred * State of Minnesota Maintenance Electrician License or Journeyman’s Electrician License * Knowledge of local and national electrical codes * Ability to read prints, schematics and diagrams * Meet requirements to rotate weekend on call duties for two facilities, work different shifts or work late in an overtime condition based on project needs * Physical Requirements: Lift 50+ pounds; move 500-600 pound barrel with the aid of a barrel dolly; use full range of body movements (standing, squatting, sitting, walking, bending, etc.); climbs stairs and ladders; manipulates small objects (thermostat calibration tools, small repair parts). Distinguish different colors (e.g. yellow alarm lights require different response than red alarm lights, wire colors, etc.) * This position is for first shift Monday through Friday.
