Summary
The QA Engineer plays a critical role at FJA as the gatekeeper, ensuring high quality deliverables to our clients as well as interacting with our clients’ team members and building effective relationships. They gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements. Write test plans and scripts for identifying and tracking defects and fixes in software application development, product modeling and operations systems. Work with the rest of the QA team to continually improve FJA’s Agile QA methodology and processes.
Responsibilities
* Execute test scenarios, automated test scripts and report defects and other test results. * Write test scenarios for future test execution and automation. * Engage with clients to review results of UAT testing. * Develop action plans for QA work, keep team and appropriate client representatives informed. * Attend daily project scrum meetings and, as necessary but at a minimum of 1x/month, full project team meetings. * Keep all project artifacts, reports and relevant data updated and available.
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications** * High School Diploma required; College degree in Computer Science or related field preferred. * Minimum 3 years: * Testing multi-tier web based software * Writing and executing test scenarios that emulate how end users use applications, including finding the edge cases that may not be thought of during development. * Working with clients to evaluate UAT results and identify which reported issues are defect vs new feature requests * Working in a highly collaborative team in an Agile development environment * Highly Desired: * Hands on experience executing test with test automation tools * Experience with SQL and at least one scripting language: C/Bourne/Korn Shell, PowerShell, VBA, Perl, PHP, JavaScript, etc. * Healthcare Industry experience, especially claims processing and/or products and benefits management. * Other types of non-health insurance industry experience such as life, P&C, and disability. **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities** * Displays passion for delivering high quality software and working collaboratively with talented technical teams * Ability and drive to learn FJA’s business and application suite; proactively provides input and feedback on features and functionality. * Strong time management skills with a history of meeting commitments. * Demonstrates initiative to advance automated testing by running as well as modifying automated test scripts * Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills with a proven ability to identify, assess and solve complex challenges. * Focused and motivated self-starter who excels at knocking down roadblocks * Builds solid interpersonal relationships with clients and team members across all levels of an organization. Works collaboratively and engages all members of department and project teams. * Effective collaboration, negotiation and conflict resolution skills * Thrive in a fast paced, high growth, team based environment while successfully handling competing and changing priorities and responsibilities. * Advanced software proficiency utilizing various applications which includes, but is not limited to Microsoft office, testing and document management solutions. * Strong professional communication skills through listening, writing, and speaking effectively. **Working Environment** * This job generally operates in a professional office environment. * This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers/keyboards/mice, printers, phones, mobile devices, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, etc. * The noise level in the office work environment varies from moderate to loud. * When traveling to client sites, the employee may be exposed to various unknown work environments. **Physical Demands** The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. * Light work.
