Summary
Fenix International is seeking a talented, motivated Data Analyst to join our team as we work to bring affordable solar power to emerging markets in East Africa. In this position, you will work with an elite team of engineers a fast-moving, venture-funded startup making an important social and environmental impact. Candidates must enjoy working in a startup environment and have a passion for renewable energy and sustainable development in Frontier Markets. As a Data Analyst in our Active Product Engineering department, you will be focused on helping us understand the performance of our hardware products and support in developing improved product diagnostics through data collection, analysis and presentation.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with product managers and engineers to design and build interactive dashboards (based on statistical methods) that will be used to monitor and analyze hardware product health. * Collaborate with product managers to build reports to detect product non conformances. * Build reporting tools for analyzing product readiness at our factories. * Conduct statistical analysis on expected failures throughout the hardware products’ life cycle to feed into warranty and financial modeling. * Develop systems that use product data to streamline product diagnostic procedures. * Collaborate with the software team to determine usable data structures as it related to product data.
Ideal Candidate
**Required Skills & Experience** * Leadership and project management experience: we are looking for entrepreneurial candidates who have started or contributed significantly to a particular project, team, or new company and we especially value candidates who have seen projects through from start to finish, from design to scale up phase. * Experience with interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data. * Experience with querying (MySQL) scripting and programming. * Experience with data analysis and visualization software tools. * Outstanding written and verbal communications skills (English). * Thrives on teamwork and able to collaborate with cross-disciplinary and remote teams. * Ability and interest in traveling to East Africa (20% time). * B.S in mathematics, statistics, data science or related field. * Two years minimum related work experience. **Desired Skills & Experience** * M.S in mathematics, statistics, data science or related field * Experience working with data related to consumer hardware products * Experience working with Tableau
