As a member of our Android team, you will be bringing fresh ideas to the table while also improving existing features that our users already love. While you can work autonomously, you like to collaborate with the team to review ideas and can provide constructive criticism. You're open to new ideas and like to learn from others. Android APIs, design patterns, and tools are constantly evolving, and we are always eager to leverage those new technologies to make the best product possible. We focus our energy on performance, app architecture, and offline functionality.

* Building and maintaining a large-scale Android application * Wrangling the complexities of Android app architecture by architecting a robust, high performing, and maintainable codebase * Working with our design and product teams to solve user problems * Efficiently translating user design requirements into code that ships * Your success in this role will be measured by FarmLogs' ability to achieve its strategic objectives, your ability to play a serious role in that success, and your fit within our fast-paced, results-driven culture

**Required** * 2+ years of professional engineering experience * Have shipped at least one Android app on Google Play that represents your quality of work and experience * Strong understanding of Java, Android platform APIs, and other technologies (below) * Experience implementing new features and optimizing existing ones * Knowledge of SQL and experience with SQLite on Android * Experience with RxJava * Technical depth that allows you to rapidly fix bugs and solve problems * Experience working across a variety of teams (product management, designers, and backend engineers) * Knowledge of core CS concepts (common data structures, algorithms, profiling/optimization) **Nice to Have** * Experience writing production code in Kotlin (very nice to have!) * Experience with lower-level drawing APIs * Understanding of mapping technologies, GeoJSON, etc * Have implemented different architectural styles (MVC, MVP, MVVM, etc) * Managing builds with automated processes * Grew up on or have a connection to a farm * Have already worked in or started a startup
