Summary
As a member of the Beaumont Engineering Services Department, the Plant Information Engineer provides technical and operational expertise for the day-to-day support of Chemical Complex process control systems and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
* Develop understanding of refining, aromatics, olefins/ethylene, chemical specialties, or polyethylene plant critical machinery applications. * Provide leadership in the continuous improvement of critical systems. * Champion long-term reliability improvements to increase critical service factors. * Provide technical support for the maintenance, operation and troubleshooting of critical machinery. * Maintain association with peers at other sites and Instrumentation leadership in Refining and Chemical's organizations. * Serve as advocate for ExxonMobil Engineering Standards, Best Practices and local worthy design standards. * Remain knowledgeable of industry directions in machinery instrumentation. * Steward progressive instrumentation technologies for machinery with sound engineering judgement. * As a primary member, work with-in the multi-disciplined and cross-organization machinery team to improve reliability. * Research existing critical machinery instrumentation systems for safety and reliability vulnerabilities and recommend improvements. * Monitor, track and report critical machinery instrumentation improvements. * Interface with diverse groups including vendors, instrument technicians, electricians, process operations and console technicians, process designers, and process computer control engineers. * Provide daily technical expertise to Operations and Maintenance departments relative to support of critical machinery instrumentation systems, including troubleshooting persistent problems, reliability upgrades, project support, maintenance, and operations procedure development.
Ideal Candidate
* Demonstrated relevant experience in Process Control Systems preferred * Established skills and experience with a full spectrum of Windows Server support and installation * Experience with relational database systems (Oracle and MS SQL Server) * Working knowledge of Honeywell TDC2000/TDC3000/Experion Systems * Established expertise with TCP/IP-based network switches and routers * Relevant experience desired in Refinery/Chemical Plant Process Control systems * Ability to work effectively as a member of an operating team * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Leadership skills needed to successfully promote ideas, coordinate work activities, and plan future systems upgrades
