Summary
Eventbrite is seeking a highly motivated team player with a passion for technology commercial contracts to serve as Commercial Counsel. Days are fast-paced and action-packed, and the ideal candidate will be eager to roll up their sleeves and problem-solve on matters of all kinds, but focusing primarily on structuring, drafting and negotiating contracts. The position is highly cross-functional, partnering closely with business units across the company, including sales, sales operations, strategy, finance and human resources.
Responsibilities
* Draft and negotiate a high volume of outbound services contracts to support a fast-moving, global sales organization * Manage and maintain template agreements, contract playbooks and sales process * Enforce Eventbrite’s contractual rights and manage competition issues * Provide practical legal support across the company in negotiating vendor agreements * Remain up-to-date on commercial and industry developments to ensure an ongoing ability to provide excellent legal advice * Coordinate and manage internal projects, trainings, processes, and drive cross-functional efforts to successful completion
Ideal Candidate
**The Skill Set** * J.D. degree and membership in at least one state bar * 5-7+ years of combined legal experience at a global law firm and/or in-house legal department at a technology company * Extensive commercial experience, including drafting and negotiating services agreements, licenses and strategic transactions * A confident, effective, and positive negotiator who can lead the process, focus on important issues, and efficiently bring deals to a favorable close * Intellectual flexibility and business-oriented attitude * Creative and practical legal counselor who can communicate information accurately and completely, while being concise and digestible for non-lawyers * Ability to organize, prioritize and manage deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding work environment * Thoughtful and persuasive interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain strong working relationships * Collaborative team player combined with ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment * Very important to have a sense of humor and enjoy practicing law **Bonus Points** * Contract management experience * Mergers and acquisitions experience * Active Eventbrite user with a passion for live events
