Summary
Engility Corporation – International Division is seeking an Operations Manager to provide leadership and overall contract management for a Department of State contract supporting Embassies and Consulates world-wide. This is a Management position based in Alexandria, Virginia. The selected candidate will take ownership of all Operational responsibilities to include directing the daily performance of the organization, planning, scheduling and training processes in order to meet the requirements of the contract.
Responsibilities
* Operations Manager acts as the Program Manager’s principle operations representative * Responsible for the management of all O&M; functions, including ensuring there are qualified personnel to meet staffing requirements, and the central planning, coordination, control, and actual performance of these functions * Advises senior management on operations and policy oversight for effective decision-making regarding performance, strategies, issues, and optimal approaches to achieve customer satisfaction and contract compliance * Monitors systems operations performance to meet the customer’s mission * Works with PM to respond to and resolve operational issues that arise within region and cross-region issues * Responsible for ensuring that project implementation is executed in compliance with DoS rules and regulations, as well as with the specifications determined in the approved Work Plan * Monitors system readiness, identifies problem areas, and responds to mission requirements to perform contract requirements * Controls resources; monitors staff proficiency and qualifications; monitors staff endurance; monitors the locations and activities of assets; and coordinates the flow of information to and from O&M; staff * Oversees personnel and activities to provide operational support, maintains schedules within cost requirements, and ensures sufficient resources to fulfill contract and company objectives * Ensures the implementation of strategic plans for operations to support contract requirements and business development based on industry best practices * Monitors functional area performance and ensures compliance with operations policies * Manages and supports Regional Project Managers * Temporarily replaces Regional Program Managers in regional offices upon the absence or unavailability of the Regional Program Manager * Liaises with DoS COTR to ensure customer satisfaction * Manages operational, logistical, and life support response to emergent and contingent DoS operations
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Tangible Qualifications** * Eligibility to obtain a U.S. Secret level security clearance * Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Organizational Management, or similar discipline leading to a broad management background is preferred * At least 10 years of experience in progressively responsible operational and management role within the Government, Government Services, or related field with a minimum of 4 years managing international operations **Preferred Qualifications** * Masters Degree in related field * Experience managing personnel working internationally under a U.S. DoS contract
