Summary
Energy and Environmental Economics, Inc. (E3), an economics and engineering consulting firm in downtown San Francisco, is seeking Consultants to join our team. E3 is a recognized leader in energy economics and policy analysis. Our practice areas span integrated resource planning, utility and project development strategy, energy efficiency, climate change economics and policy, and renewable energy.  Some of the projects our team is working on include: * Exploring the feasibility and cost of pathways to significantly reduce energy system emissions by 2050 * Supporting the implementation of the California Renewables Portfolio Standard * Supporting New York’s Reforming the Energy Vision * Testing the economics and business case for smart grid and energy storage * Identifying market opportunities and regulatory hurdles for emerging technologies * Valuing the cost-effectiveness of energy efficiency and building standards * Designing retail customer rates, including net energy metering policies
Responsibilities
* Project research and information/data gathering * Maintaining and developing spreadsheet models * Developing clear presentations of research methodology and results * Technical and statistical data analysis * Report writing and editing * Other project support as required
Ideal Candidate
* High degree of initiative and creativity for solving problems * Demonstrated career interest in energy, economic and policy analysis * Bachelor’s degree in engineering, economics or related technical field * One or more years of experience in energy-related field a plus * Strong quantitative, analytical, and statistical skills * Ability to write and communicate technical analyses clearly and concisely * Very high proficiency in Microsoft Excel * Proficiency in Python, Analytica or statistical software such as SAS, R, or Stata a plus * Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Power Point * Ability to work independently or within a team * Desire to work in a dynamic office environment with 40-45 other staff
