Summary
The product management group within our Core Technologies division oversees the portfolio of businesses across EMC’s data protection suite of products. This team is looking for a creative and energetic product and feature champion who has discipline and know-how in working efficiently across an organization and is passionate about our portfolio of solutions across the EMC federation and expanding vertical markets.
Responsibilities
* Proactively & reactively identify product white spaces within EMC2 solution offerings (including VMware, VCE, Virtustream, and RSA). * Identify solutions that could fill gaps and build a business case with the specific solution group. * Define solutions and solution roadmaps. * Identify product feature gaps and requirements for our products. * Scope level of effort with product management & engineering. * Drive awareness within EMC’s sales organization. * Ensure execution of partner marketing. * Ensure development of solution whitepapers. * Conduct regular business reviews. * Develop and support selected vertical market. business opportunities with product support and product solutions that align our product strategy * Be an action-oriented, disruptive, and innovative driving force, responsible for defining appropriate solution for defined market segments. * Act as a “general manager” for the solution---developing the offering and ensuring that it is successful in the market. * Lead a cross functional team to define and execute complete projects and major initiative using judgment and growing experience. * Resolve escalated product, service, and stakeholder issues in a timely and effective manner. * Have significant visibility and engagement with VP level executives.
Ideal Candidate
* Deep knowledge of data protection industry with experience in a product manager, solutions product manager, or a partner product manager role. * MBA plus a technical undergraduate degree (preferably computer science or computer engineering) * Strong technical aptitude (prior experience as a software engineer highly desired). * Proven ability to influence senior executives on innovative ideas. * Outstanding analytical skills with the ability to create detailed financial models. * An open and engaging collaborative style. High level of energy and initiative. Encourages feedback. * Ability to lead virtual team efforts and partner across organization boundaries and influence development directions. * Strong written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to take abstract technical and business concepts and drive them into concrete and agreed-to specific requirements. * Ability to articulate technical issues in terms of business risk.
