Summary
Is to build our cross-platform, cross-game player network that encompasses EA Digital Platform (EADP) services including identity, commerce, marketplace, social, data & player experiences in a modern cloud operating model. This large scale, always-on collection of services powers EA’s network of games that will be experienced by tens of millions of monthly active users. This role has an opportunity to build server-side systems that deliver new functionality to the platform, provide cloud enablement frameworks and cloud operation services to both EADP and game studios, as well as work on regular improvements to the systems to keep them at top notch performance.
Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer III, your primary responsibility is collaborating with your teammates to create the high-quality foundational infrastructure that powers and supports EA games. You will own both development and quality of features and tasks. You will also contribute to success of the entire team through active participation in processes such as work estimation, design, and code reviews. This position will focus initially on Cloud Engineering’s cloud platform feature team. ?As part of the Cloud Platform team you will work to provide a critical foundation of operational services to EADP such as infrastructure management, image/container management, service discovery, deployment/lifecycle management.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience. * 5+ years hands-on commercial development experience, preferably in a services team * Working experience of an OO language * Experience with a public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, GAE, etc.) * Experience of teamwork within a modern service development lifecycle. * Exceptional analytical and creative problem solving skills; solution oriented individual **Desirable Skills:** * Experience working on high traffic services * Web-based service development technologies, REST, JSON etc. * Service Engineering experience * Design and development of multi-threaded architecture in web and data technologies * Database experience with relational or NoSQL solutions
