We are seeking a Senior Product Manager who will build the next version of our public APIs - a comprehensive suite of retail-standard APIs which our sellers will use to manage their end-to-end selling operations on eBay. This includes owning the end-to-end experience of sellers/partners who engage with us through our APIs, and ensuring that all the relevant complementary eBay services are made available through these APIs such that customers have a complete solution.
- Engage with sellers and channel partners to understand customer needs, gather feedback and partner with them to drive adoption of our APIs
- Define product requirements including writing clear, detailed, and thorough specifications for features
- Analyze usage data, customer research, and marketing research to understand and drive new features & improvements
- Work with the Product Development team to refine and clarify product requirements
- Work with the Quality Engineering team to ensure the final delivery meets product requirements
- Manage the timeline for feature development, ensuring it stays on track and clearly reporting status and issues
- Work with Technical Writers to develop lucid API documentation, guides and tutorials to help onboard new partners and sellers
- Collaborate with multiple product groups across the company to drive development of end-to-end capabilities/features needed by our sellers
- Work with Business Unit, Marketing and Merchant Integration teams to develop and execute on API release and adoption plan.
The ideal Product Manager for this role is one who (1) Is passionate about the ecommerce experience for millions of sellers and channel partners (2) Is not afraid to think big – APIs are the fastest growing business channel for eBay – the sky is the limit (3) Has the technical depth to engage with the developer community (4) Is meticulous with details while keeping an eye on the big picture and (5) Has a bias for action and can-do attitude.
This person will own eBay’s Selling API strategy, end-to-end experience of API customers and will drive the design, development and delivery of the new suite of public APIs. She or he will collaborate with channel partners, engineers, data analysts, technical writers, developer marketing and of course fellow product managers working together to solve our customer problems.
Preferred - MBA with a Computer Science background
