Summary
We’re looking for a UX designer who is hungry for more, looks at design from a user-first perspective and is comfortable in a startup atmosphere. As dscout’s UX designer, you will develop well tested, research-based experiences that support the needs of our users. You will collaborate with our users and a small, passionate team of people nerds to help shape the experiences of thousands of users.
Responsibilities
* Drive the user-research and user-experience of our web- and mobile-based research tools. * Collaborate with designers, engineers and researchers to create the best solutions for our users. * Create key documentation to hand-off to engineers for development. * Participate in weekly design standups to receive and provide constructive feedback of design work. * Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
* 3-7 years design experience. * An unquenchable desire to know how users put our tools to work, where they succeed and how they fail. * Experience leading user research and conducting heuristic evaluations; creating wire-frames and prototypes; and synthesizing and reporting on the discoveries from said activities. * You obsess about the details and constantly ask the question, “Is this how [it] should be?” * You’re pragmatic and shape solutions around user needs but also business and engineering forces. * Your portfolio shows a robust process highlighting iterative and lateral thinking and includes both web and mobile design work. * You’re a great verbal and written communicator. * You’re fluent in UI, you understand hierarchy, color and typography and aren’t afraid to get down to the pixel level to help the team. * Experience working with common industry software (we use Adobe CC, InVision, Axure). * You’re a team player and thrive on collaboration. * Experience designing for a SaaS based business and an interest in research and data viz is a plus. * You want to push your limits. You look for opportunities to become better and evolve as a designer.
