We’re looking for a UX designer who is hungry for more, looks at design from a user-first perspective and is comfortable in a startup atmosphere. As dscout’s UX designer, you will develop well tested, research-based experiences that support the needs of our users. You will collaborate with our users and a small, passionate team of people nerds to help shape the experiences of thousands of users.

Drive the user-research and user-experience of our web- and mobile-based research tools.

Collaborate with designers, engineers and researchers to create the best solutions for our users.

Create key documentation to hand-off to engineers for development.

Participate in weekly design standups to receive and provide constructive feedback of design work.

Additional responsibilities as assigned.

3-7 years design experience.

An unquenchable desire to know how users put our tools to work, where they succeed and how they fail.

Experience leading user research and conducting heuristic evaluations; creating wire-frames and prototypes; and synthesizing and reporting on the discoveries from said activities.

You obsess about the details and constantly ask the question, “Is this how [it] should be?”

You’re pragmatic and shape solutions around user needs but also business and engineering forces.

Your portfolio shows a robust process highlighting iterative and lateral thinking and includes both web and mobile design work.

You’re a great verbal and written communicator.

You’re fluent in UI, you understand hierarchy, color and typography and aren’t afraid to get down to the pixel level to help the team.

Experience working with common industry software (we use Adobe CC, InVision, Axure).

You’re a team player and thrive on collaboration.

Experience designing for a SaaS based business and an interest in research and data viz is a plus.

You want to push your limits. You look for opportunities to become better and evolve as a designer.
