Our client located in Chicago, IL is looking for a Java Applications Security Director to oversee software development with an eye for security, identify vulnerabilities in source coding, and support the development team to resolve security risks and challenges. The right candidate will direct systems and workflows for the development team to ensure security best practices are implemented and followed.

* Examine new projects for security risks through a designed, systemic approach * Conduct risk analysis via manual and automated tools, design automated tests and tools, and develop source code libraries * Disseminate security trends and educate development teams and the organization at large via consultation and presentations * Prioritize security risk resolution and recommend hardware and software for improvements * Utilize knowledge, research, and attack tools to uncover vulnerabilities and flaws

* 7+ years of experience in Java development experience with 2+ years of Web Services development * 3+ years of experience with IT security in server, database, or applications * 2+ years of experience with testing tools (Appscan, Fortify, Veracode, WhiteHat) * Ability to examine software, document options, and provide recommendations from a risk perspective **Nice to have Skills:** * Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CSSLP, or CISM Certified
