Summary
Our Client located in Lake Forest, IL is currently looking for an Cisco Certified Network Professional to join their growing global team. Large environment and ASA Firewall experience is essential to be considered for this role.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for the company LAN/WAN, Wireless, Voice and Video solutions and networks including servers, routers, switches, gateways and related hardware. * Troubleshoot escalated issues to identify and repair complex network issues for WAN, LAN, Voice, Video, Internet connections and end-user issues. * Communicate and coordinate network maintenance, operational status, and downtime to users and management. * Aid in the development of business continuity and disaster recovery plans. Respond to emergency network outages. * Perform analysis of network needs and contribute to design of network architecture, integration, and installation. * Participate as a contributor in the implementation of Projects, taking direction from Network Architects, Senior Engineers and/or project leads. * Prepare and maintain documentation of network standards, configurations, procedures and cabling layouts. * Monitor and identify network capacity and performance issues to maximize efficiency of company communication systems. * Perform system and equipment audits. * Recommend network design changes based upon system review, test results, monitoring data and company requirements. * Participate in a 24/7 split on-call rotation providing technical support.
Ideal Candidate
* Cisco CCNP certification * Cisco Nexus/Data Center deployment/operation * Cisco ASA Firewall experience * At least 6 years of experience within the last 8 years working in a multi-network, multi-protocol Enterprise environment * Detailed knowledge of OSPF/EIGRP/Spanning Tree protocols * Working knowledge of BGP protocol * Demonstrated advanced proficiency and experience in one or more of the following areas: Routing and Switching, Security, Wireless, Data Center, Video/Voice * Strong understanding of network QoS methods, markings and mitigation strategies * Ability to use Network Sniffers, analyze data to resolve network issues * Ability to analyze network performance data to identify trends and potential problems, and support recommendations to modify and/or upgrade network equipment or services * Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on listening and questioning * Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, requiring availability 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 12 months a year * Ability to travel up to 15% of the time domestically * Requires a valid driver's license with favorable motor vehicle report **Nice to Have Skills:** * Large scale, multi-site WiFi deployment/WLC/Cisco Prime * Cisco ISR/3845/3850/3750/2960 * Cisco Call Manager/Unity/UCS * Practical experience cabling and wiring systems, topologies, design, and installation
