Senior Technology Strategy Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to take a leading role in a vibrant and growing team at Dolby Labs. The Communications Business Group was formed to exploit Dolby’s world leading audio and sound perception know-how in telecommunications. Our first product, launched world-wide with BT, provides a unique high-quality spatial audio solution for multi-party conferencing and collaboration. The new Business Unit has achieved several important technology advances and market firsts. An opportunity now exists to work within the BU’s CTO team to address a range of technology and industry questions in order to guide our product and business strategies.

* You will lead a small team of subject matter experts within the Communications Business Group CTO group. This includes maintaining awareness of the industry landscape via personal networks, analysts, trade events and conferences. You will be the relevant point of contact for trends/disruptions in technology, markets and user behaviors. Other duties include: * Maintain awareness of the relevant standards landscape and lead required activity in that area. * Deep dive on technology and market areas to guide technology and product strategies * Scope, manage and steer business specific IP-Portfolio

* Masters or equivalent in relevant technology such as EE, signal processing, audio engineering or telecommunications * 10+ years of industry experience * Ability to lead a team * Relevant domain expertise in three or more of: * Mobile communications networks, devices, services and economics * Wireless technologies such as 3G/4G, Wi-Fi, BT * Unified Communications, VoIP, packet networks, protocols, network management, and architectures * Communications Industry environment factors including security, privacy and regulation * Evolved delivery architectures such as cloud services, mobile edge-computing, SDN, and NFV * Standards such as BT, Wi-Fi, 3GPP, ITU-T, IETF * The use of automatic-speech-recognition, big-data and language analytics in service architectures * Ability to create whitepapers and other concise documented output to deliver specific guidance to the Business, Research and Engineering Teams * Strong communications skills to maintain cross BU relationships and drive value from an influencer role. * Ability to rapidly acquire solid working knowledge of existing and planned Dolby Communications products and technologies * Willingness to deep-dive on new topic areas to provide detailed technical and industry-context guidance * Standards body experience * Knowledge of product management / technical specifications * MBA and/or business modelling experience
