Summary
Enterprise Contract Solutions (ECS), a part of Discover Financial Services’ Law Department, is responsible for the review and negotiation of Discover’s commercial contracts, including contracts with vendors, merchants, participants in its payment networks and counter parties in business and asset acquisitions. Under minimal supervision, ECS’ Operations Program Manager will play a central role in managing the ECS’s operations, including , oversight of Enterprise Contract Solutions’ administrative support functions, thought leadership on ECS’ use of systems and technology, integral member of team implementing new Ariba contracts module and integration with other systems, responsible for ensuring appropriate system design and on-going modifications for evolving work needs and periodic system updates, production and distribution of metrics and reports on ECS performance and operation and maintenance of ECS control activities.
Responsibilities
* Manage ECS’s administrative support functions, which manage ECS’s intake, assignment and uploading and abstraction processes. * Maintain the group’s contract approval form tool, intranet spaces and model contract documents * Manage the Group’s use of systems and technology, most critically the contract lifecycle management tool (Ariba) * lead migration to new contract management tool and lead continuous enhancement of new contract management tool; serve as a trainer on the new contract management tool * Ensure effective integration of ECS systems and technology tools with other DFS systems * Identify, develop and implement systems and/or technology to enhance the group’s efficiency and effectiveness * Serve as ECS’s lead participant in the enterprise’s efforts to harmonize all systems relevant to the engagement of third parties, by explaining the requirements and details of the contracts process across all types of contracts handled by ECS and ensuring that those requirements and details are properly reflected and accounted for in the enterprise-wide solution * Address inquiries from internal and external stakeholders regarding contract processes and reports. * Develop, produce and distribute metrics and reports on the ECS’s performance, and with analyze key metrics. * Champion efficiency throughout the Group * Manage the Group’s control activities and maintain Procedures. * Promote a risk-aware culture, ensuring efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to require standards and processes.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) * 7 years of related experience, including at least 3 years of project management experience * Strong background in technology and legal systems * Excellent MS Excel and data analysis skills * Ability to manage risks and controls as pertains to the Enterprise Contract Solutions system * Ability to work in a standard office environment
